Express Swim Review

‘Tis the season for swimwear and sunnies.

Express Swim Top | Express Swim Bottoms | Express Shorts (last season’s, this season’s)

As hard as I try, I always have the urge to update my swimwear at the beginning of every season. Rationally, it makes absolutely no sense, all of my old suits are perfectly functional. But hey, its fashion and if we’ve learned anything, fashion is anything but rational.

The urges have been particularly strong these past two seasons with the introduction of cut outs. Suddenly all of my old swimsuits were really quite boring. Unfortunately, updating my swim closet isn’t the easiest of feats. I was born with the typical flat Asian butt. I run, do yoga, and rock climb and the butt’s gotten pretty nice but its still on the small size. I often suffer from saggy butt syndrome when it comes to swim bottoms… which has resulted in a 5 to 1 ratio of tops to bottoms.

But I’m never one to give up. I try everything and all things. And lucky for me, Express reached out to see if I’d be interested in trying out their latest womens swimsuits. No brainer right? Now, its important to note that while this swimsuit was provided to me for free, all options on it are of my own.

So let me tell you what I loved about it. I loved colors and overall design–especially in the top. The crisscross bralette style gives a nice, almost sports bra like hold, while the removable padding insures theres no see through or peek through of any kind. I also love that the top is full adjustable in the back and easy to get into (hook closure in the back).

In terms of sizing the both the top and bottom fits TTS. The overall quality seems to fit the price point. It isn’t the the best swim material I’ve come across, but its decent and will provide adequate comfort and coverage–and its affordable!

What I didn’t love? The saggy butt. Of course, this is my issue and not yours, unless you too happen to suffer from a flat butt, then be warned. I’m hoping this isn’t the case with the cheeky style, but I haven’t had a chance to try it out. If I do, I’ll let you guys know.

Overall I’m loving the amount of womens bikinis options Express Swim has. While I don’t think the bottoms will work for me, there are tons of cute tops just waiting to be tried on. I really want to try this macarame high top next. I love that the price point is quite affordable and I don’t have to worry about breaking my wallet trying to update to this season styles. Even better, right the entire website is 40% off until 03/28/16. Express Swim is only available online or in (very) select stores, but they’re offering free shipping and returns to make up for it!
