Madewell Extra 40% off Sale + Review.

Extra 40% off all sale styles until 10/19 and free ship no minimum!

I love it when Madewell goes on sale, but I hate the fact that at least 50% of the items are final sale. I always try to make it a point to go in-store to try stuff on. Even with an extra 40% off its enough money that it shouldn’t be spent frivolously.

Courier Shirt in Buffalo Check | Size XXS

The downside is often I find things that weren’t in my cart, that suddenly become must-haves. Like this shirt. Despite the awesome buffalo print it wasn’t even on my radar because I was certain it would make my shoulders/chest look broad. I love how oversized this looks but without the bulk. It tucks in perfectly but still looks flattering. Plus there’s a second print that pops up when you roll up the sleeves! The material is soft and thick, and is very comfortable. I wear an XS in most shirts, but sized down to an XXS in this. As a result I lost some of the volume in the sleeves because of it, but gained a better fit in the body. Even though its a bit more fitted in the arms, I’m still able to roll up the sleeves easily.

Latitude Shirtdress in Kemp Plaid | Size XS

The gauze-like material for dress is so plush I want to take a nap in it. The cut/front pleath is flattering and skims nicely – however I would be careful about how this falls on your hips. The pockets are a tiny bit bulky and placed at your widest part of your body will only make you look wider. This runs smaller in the shoulders than the Daywalk dress so I’m wearing an XS here. The size up gave just the right amount of length to place the pockets past my hips. Another thing to watch out for is that the material will snag easily. I almost took this home, until I noticed several of the dresses in-store had snags and loose threads. I’m still debating ordering from online, however, because of how comfortable and well fitted it is. This also has a contrasting gingham print that pops up once you roll up the sleeves and open up the neckline.

Striped Fringe-edged Sweater | Size XS

For whatever reason its still 82* outside, which made considering this sweater rather difficult. Cozy doesn’t even begin to describe how this feels on. The knit is super, super soft and plush. I didn’t even realize there was wool in it until I looked at the tag. This will undoubtedly keep you warm and still let you feel chic. The fringe hem really elevates the sweater and keeps it from being boring. Its also incredibly awesome when layered over a plaid shirt. The fit is boxy, but not so much that I felt like I needed to size down.

Landscape Cardigan Sweater in Marled Pepper | Size S

I really liked the idea behind this cardigan, but I think its one of those that probably look better one or two sizes up. I’m wearing a small here, but I want to go back and try a medium. It has a great swing to it, even buttoned up, but the placement is just slightly awkward. The material is great. It feels soft and substantial, but not overly thick. It will be a really nice layering piece. It also comes in a beautiful wine and sage color.
