With a touch of tan.
If you’re following me on Instagram, you’ll notice I’ve been wearing a lot of Hollister jeans lately. I’ve become a bit obsessed with them actually. They’re the only skinny jeans and jean leggings that I’ve come across that have 9″ and 8″ leg openings. Most skinnies are around 10″ and unfortunately, that’s too wide for my chicken legs. They also come in a low rise that seems to fit my waist quite perfectly (i.e. minimal to no muffin top!).
The down side is they do require a bit of work. The sizing and stretch is not consistent amongst the same style. I’m normally a size 3 at Hollister, but in most of the low rise super skinny jeans I’m a 5 short, but there are a few styles that stretched out an entire size so I needed to go down to 3 short. The regular length in the super skinnies are surprisingly long (I’m wearing a 5R here and you can see how much I needed to roll these up). Normally I get a little bit of wrinkling but I could cover half of my foot with how long these are. In other words, these jeans will work for tall folks (they come in a long length as well). They stretch out about half a size, so if you’re in between I recommend going with the smaller size first.
On the flip side, the regular length in their jean leggings are absolutely perfect for me. This style seems to run more consistent and true to size. I took a 3 regular in almost everything (minus the high rise, I haven’t tried those on yet). However, I did have a couple of pairs that I needed to down size in, as they were falling off my bum after a few hours of wear. The jean leggings will stretch out anywhere from half a size to a full size so make sure to buy them snug.
Overall, they are all super comfortable and I love the washes that are available. They’re priced at $60, and to be honest, not worth that price tag given how much work it is to find the right size. But Hollister is always having one sale or another. I purchased all of mine during their $25 jean event, and right now most of their jeans are $25 & up, which makes these down right affordable and well worth the cost.
